family were Framework knitters. Recorded as landlord of the Rose &
Crown in 1880's where the club held it's annual dinners. He is refered
too in the report of the 1882 dinner as 'one of the finest long-stops
that ever went into field'. Two of his brothers are refered too 'one
the batsman the other the bowler and when they were all present there
was no club that they were afraid of'. |
