KIBWORTH CRICKET CLUB - 1858 Season

Leicester Advertiser 15 May:  The members of the KCC, met on Monday afternoon last for the opening field day. There were a good muster of members and two eleven’s were appointed and played a very fair game for the commencement of the season. The club has had an accession of new members, and appears to be in quite a prosperous condition, being patronised by many who have both means and time to support it

Leicester Journal & Midland Counties General Advertiser  11 Jun:    On Monday last, KCC v Arnesby at Kibworth. Arnesby players came from other places and included two professionals, namely Newbolt of Leicester, and Bells of Sileby, they dined at the Rose & Crown. Scores:- Kibworth 55 & 69, Arnesby 51 & 74 Team: G. Leicester Journal & Midland Counties General Advertiser  23 July:   Mkt. Harborough Town v KCC at Harborough on the 16th. Harborough won by 2 runs. Scores:-  Harborough 36 & 100, Kibworth 65 & 68. Team: G. Teear, H. Teear, Matthew, G. Teear, Austin, Wyatt, Macaulay, Bromley, Asher, Smeeton, West.

Leicester Journal & Midland Counties General Advertiser 17 Sep:    KCC v Harborough Albion Club at Kibworth, who had an easy victory. Scores:- Harborough 35 &  35, Kibworth 75 & 37. In the return match Kibworth 108 & 81, Harborough 79 & 17, match un-finished.
