(Friday,) when a parish cricket match was played by two local teams, whose
skill of the national pastime had, it is
alleged not previously by any means rendered them famous. There were six players on each side,
and the match, which had been regarded by many as a myth, took place on the cricket ground of
the Kibworth Club. The game caused considerably astonishment to a large number of on-lookers. there was a
great display in the “strength” of the respective teams, that the 1st innings of the one team was to be a tie
with the 2 innings of the other.
