Leicester Chronicle 23 Sep In the
Kibworth column of the paper it states: The Cricket season closed on a
successful season on Saturday, when they defeated a Kettering
team by 97 runs and 4 wickets, the season began badly, but in the last fourteen
matches, they won 12 and drew 2. Two noteworthy events occurred on the closing day; one being the
pulling of leather through the window of a house overlooking the field; and the other,
the voluntary discard of the clock outside the pavilion, and the consequent
absolute termination of
its useful career.
