KIBWORTH CRICKET CLUB - 1911 Season

 

Leicester Chronicle      4 Mar     At the Annual Dance it states that KCC are one of the few who subscribe to the County CC. .


Leicester Chronicle         22 Apr    KCC, at the AGM, held at the Old Swan on Saturday evening, Mr. T. H. Lewis was voted to the chair. Mr. F. J. Loveday, hon. secretary, submitted the accounts, with a balance on the wrong side of £7 6s 6d. They agreed that minimum subscription for the under 18 years be reduced to 2s 6d. It was also decided to ask the committee, in view of the unseemly remarks made by the persons on the roadway during matches, to consider the desirability of obstructing the sight there from, by placing boards inside the field, and also reverting to the imposition of a small charge at the gate. Mr. W. Barnes was re-elected president.

Leicester Chronicle           23 Sep    In the Kibworth column of the paper it states: The Cricket season closed on a successful season on Saturday, when they defeated a Kettering team by 97 runs and 4 wickets, the season began badly, but in the last fourteen matches, they won 12 and drew 2. Two noteworthy events occurred on the closing day; one being the pulling of leather through the window of a house overlooking the field; and the other, the voluntary discard of the clock outside the pavilion, and the consequent absolute termination of its useful career.
