Pre-season report
I doubt if the real spirit of carefree cricket has any
better home in Leicestershire than at Kibworth where E.W. Welton the
Leicestershire bowler
will skipper the locals again.
Welton had his best season ever with the ball last year, claiming 87
victims at a cost of 6.8 each in the course of 280 overs, while Cecil
Berry
topped the batting with an average of 18 runs per innings.
Rex Turner has been re-elected president, F Gowdridge again takes on
the secretaryship and Alf Smith the task of donning the white coat once
more.
The sum of 12 guineas was raised for the Red Cross last year and the
1945 program opens on May 5 against St Paul's
