Kibworth 1st XI defied the rain on Saturday to claim a crucial victory as they chase the leaders of the Everards league premier Division. Visitors and fellow title chasers Loughborough Town looked well placed at 132-0 of only 23 overs before rain drove the players from the field at Fleckney Road. After a two and half hour delay the home side bowlers took charge and Loughborough finally set a target of 196 to win in 28 overs. Kibworth skipper Mike Sutliff top scored with 71 as the total was reached for the loss of four wickets with five balls to spare.
