A fine 60 from Suni Patel with 6 fours (99 balls), marred only by ending with the score on 131 rather than 133, saw Kibworth to a comfortable win against the visitors from Leicester Banks.
The day began with a minutes silence in memory of umpire Reg Goodridge who passed away over the winter, and who's cheerful character will be greatly missed on cricket fields all over the county.
Good bowling, particularly from Simon Renshaw (3-12) and Dan Broughton (3-21), and aided by a typically miserly spell of 1-36 from 13 overs by Russ 'Legend' Spiers, restricted Banks to 132 all out. they were dismised in the 41st over having seen top scores from Asim Khan (32) and Brijesh Patel (31) lift them from 63 for 7 to agonisingly short of 4 batting points.
A steady start from the newly paired Suni and Greg Smith saw us to 41 without loss in 17 overs before Greg (14) and then Nick Ferraby (22) departed, leaving Suni to win the game himself. Except that he didn't, hitting what should have been the winning boundary straight to the fielder. Jackson sealed the win 2 balls later, and with 25 overs to spare.
