A mature 98 not out from opener Greg Smith, littered with great shots and including 20 fours in 104 balls faced, saw Kibworth to a straightforward victory over the visitors, Leicester Ivanhoe.
Great bowling from Broughton (3-30), Renshaw (3-34) and a miserly 1-17 from 12 overs from Tim Mason restricted Ivanhoe to a well-below par 155 on a good pitch and fast outfield. Recovering from 14 for 3 in the 8th over, only captain Carl Crowe's contribution of 46 with 9 fours was significant.
They failed to make inroads with the ball too, taking just 2 wickets as Kibworth strolled to victory in the 33rd of 52 possible overs. Ferraby, whose 40 off 60 balls included 6 boundaries was cuaght with just 5 runs required, but Greg kept his head (despite the undoubted temptation when, with a run needed, a six would have also given him his century) to win the match without further flutters.
Top of the League, then, and with a visit to Market Harborough next week. Things are looking rosy, apart from the nasty injury to Josh Cobb which is likely to keep him out foe several weeks.
