Match Report

Kislingbury Temperance 2nd XI made the long journey to Kibworth, to face Kibworth 4XI knowing they only had 9 men due to over 30 players being unavailable for this weekends fixtures due to Work Commitments, Holidays, School Spanish trips, injuries and family barbecues.

When batting first it was feared that they would be skittled out for an embarrassing amount, however Kisl had over ideas. The star of the show was Andy Spencer, opening the batting, scored an awesome 85. Andy Smith and Rob Wightman chipped in with 11 and 15 respectively, however George Anderson once again showed his potential with a fine 23 not out, with Kisl making 180 all out from 45 overs.

A really great effort from all at Kislingbury, the 2nds putting up a spirited display which holds the team in good stead for the future.

In response Kibworth raced to their target, with Andy Spencer taking the only wicket to fall, as Kibworth made 181 from 22.1 overs.

All who participated in this fixture deserve congratulating due to the difficult circumstances within the club this weekend. It is hoped some players will return to strengthen the team in search of the elusive first win of the season.

Well done all, but a particular mention of Andy Spencer and George Anderson who really were the stars for the 2nds this weekend. Keep up the good work and those wins will come................
