report
With us all warmed up and in the mood to keep going, Pedro won the toss
and we went back out into the field. The 2 Dan's opened the bowling and
almost immediately the first wicket fell. Not as should been, Bowled
Broughton -Caught Burton. But run out Burton. Tom “Two
Hands” Burton managed to drop as easy catch as you will see at
mid on, but the had the presence of mind to pick the ball up and with a
direct throw run out the batter. His embarrassment was much to the rest
of the teams benefit as we took all took warmth from his glowing
face!!! The Banks boys batted as they always do, with great flare and
aggression , but on this occasion without much success. The wickets
fell in a steady procession until they were bowled out for 96. Again
some good tight bowling from Ghumar's, Spiro and Joe.
With rain threatening, Sunny and Burty were sent out to make sure we
stayed ahead of the average run rate in case we had our innings cut
short. We would not have any fears though, as after a steady start of
12 runs from the first couple of over's Burty went up a gear. We raced
past the 5 over target and soon after the main target, as we went past
the Banks total after 11 over's for the loss off 0 wickets. Burty
blazing it, and Sunny playing some exquisite drives and one great over
head smash!!!
A good day all round for the team., and for the up and coming youth of
the club. Ghumar's bowled his best spells this season.
Burty batted well in both games and showed us he will soon be kicking
the first team door down.
And both Mikey and Joe continued there good starts to the season and
showed they have a bright future at the club
