A comfortable win for Kibworth. Initially Brigstock were unable to come to terms with the extra bounce of the Kibworth wicket and a series of mistimed and also rash shots saw them in deep trouble at 36-5. With first Bernie Mayes (11) and then Damon Cresswell offering resolute support 13 yr old Pat Croker set about repairing the innings; watchful early on Croker expanded on his range of shots and hit some sumptuous off drives with 5 @ 4s in his innings. Croker and Cresswell put on 44 but Croker ricked his back and was out shortly afterwards. 106 -8 wasn't healthy but 14 yr old Aden O'Grady from no 10 thumped a quick 26 * and Jon croker 15* to give Brigstock something to bowl at. Another injury followed as Jon Croker pulled a muscle in the last over, we should have sent out a runner and this failure meant that 150 was missed. Lodge 10-0-38-3 and Butler 6-1-22-3 were the pick of the Kibworth bowlers.
With 2 bowlers 'crocked' (sorry for that) it was an uphill task Nick Wooster and Aden O'Grady bowled a good opening spell and Donald Mayes was superb on a wicket that didn't suit him 11.4-3-47-4 but Kibworth had plenty in hand. Openers S Pole and I Mir made 31 and 39 and M Wilkins a quick 53.
Not a great day but it was good to see some youthful promise coming to fruition.
