Sileby's First XI weren't able to top off a patchy batting performance and prevent Kibworth from chasing down their 238 for 8 as Kibworth recorded a six wicket win from their trip to Mill Lane.
Sileby's innings was built around half centuries from Luke Gale, who finished unbeaten on 65, and Gethin King, who notched his fourth fifty of the season, before nicking Darren Shaw behind the pegs to Matt Craven for 53.The pair were supported by skipper Liam Kinch, who stepped in to the openers berth in the absence of Dave Torr, who scored 45, while Mudassir Pasha added 27 and Asim Khan hit a lusty 21 late on, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to reach double figures as they slipped from 147 for 3 to 197 for 7 as the visitors bowlers struck back to check any momentum that Sileby had during the early part of the innings.
Gale and Khan added 36 in three overs to push their side past the 200 mark before Khan was caught off Tom Burton for 21 off 12 balls. Gale closed on 65 not out from 78 balls, with five fours and two sixes.
Sileby's final total of 238 was a disappointing total, considering the position they were in with 20 overs to go. However, they got a decent start with the ball as Jordan King trapped Ram Ghuman leg before for seven.
Craven and Tom Burton consolidated that early loss with a stand of 75 in 15 overs, with Craven dominating the stand with 41 of those runs, before picking out Kinch to give Phil Chamberlain a deserved wicket as reward for a tight spell of seam bowling to dismiss the Kibworth opener for 52.
Burton followed nine overs later, run out by a direct a hit by Richard Preston for 32, as Sileby failed to build any sustained pressure and take wickets in groups. Shaw was already on 20 when Burton was dismissed and he added a further ten in a stand of 72 with Kibworth skipper Andy Smith.
The pair saw their side through to 208 with five overs to go, only for Pasha to combine brilliantly with Charles Wootton to have Shaw expertly stumped for 40. Smith was already on 48 at the point of Shaw's dismissal and he passed fifty soon after and added a swift 33 with Ross Clarke (7 not out) to see their side over the finishing line with six wickets and 11 balls to spare.
